Helen Air -- BWIA, based in Trinidad
& Tobago, and Helen Air of St. Lucia have reached agreement on a
five-year strategic alliance, to meet the needs of passengers and
shippers in the Eastern Caribbean, reports CANA (February 4, 2000).
"Both carriers will synchronize their schedules to provide seamless
connections at St. Lucia and Barbados in order to better serve
markets such as St. Lucia, Dominica, St Vincent & the Grenadines,
Martinique and Guadeloupe," BWIA said. Helen Air will retain its
name and identity and will operate under the BWEE Express brand. As
a result of this alliance, Helen Air discontinued talks with Air
Jamaica with respect to being the launch carrier of EC Express.
